Autumn colors and a bit of Northern New England! USk Port Townsend will be sketching at Port Gamble on Saturday, October 28 from ten to noon. We will meet at the General Store, located at the end of the one-way street in the main town. There will be lots to see and sketch–lovely historical architecture, and interesting indoor options such as the seashell museum upstairs in the Store (small fee requested). If you have time, there is a wonderful historical museum in the back of the store. There are a few good lunch places available, as well.

Our Mission
Urban Sketchers is a nonprofit organization dedicated to raising the artistic, storytelling and educational value of location drawing, promoting its practice and connecting people around the world who draw on location where they live and travel. Sketchers from the Port Townsend and the Olympic Peninsula area share their drawings on this blog.
Our Manifesto
1. We draw on location, indoors or out, capturing what we see from direct observation. 2. Our drawings tell the story of our surroundings, the places we live and where we travel. 3. Our drawings are a record of time and place. 4. We are truthful to the scenes we witness. 5. We use any kind of media and cherish our individual styles. 6. We support each other and draw together. 7. We share our drawings online. 8. We show the world, one drawing at a time.
Last time I was sketching there with a group, maybe 2015, there was a cool little cafe in the back of the General Store. Don’t forget to check out the beautiful historic church a block up the road, as well as the cemetery. Good views there, too!
